About Dogwood Trace

When Ron and I were preparing to build our house in 2006, we had to decide on the path the driveway would take. We walked it repeatedly, looking at it from all directions and thinking of how it would look, what it would be like to drive it.   The driveway ended up being  1/3 mile long.  It winds around and goes down and up a hill to the house.  That first year, when spring arrived, we noticed that there were dogwood trees all along the driveway.  They are so beautiful in the spring.

We live near the Natchez Trace.  In this case, the word "trace" means "path" or "trail."  Our driveway is the dogwood lined trail that leads to our home.  So we christened our farm the Dogwood Trace Farm.  Since dogwoods obviously grow well in this soil, we plan to plant more to make them even more beautiful and noticeable.
